Fall 2022 Writing Events
It’s August already. Here in Southcentral Alaska, that usually means cooler temps and ripe berries. It also means time to get ready for fall writing events! I have a few that I’m involved in, so check them out below:
1. Crash Course: Interactive & Episodic Fiction presented by Kate Johnson
Episodic and Interactive storytelling apps are popping out of the woodwork left and right. Kate Johnson, the co-founder of the Interactive Fiction app Zory, breaks down the basics of gamified fiction apps. She'll introduce the industry and touch on the history of interactive and episodic content before diving deeper into how to write compelling episodic and interactive stories-- the good, the bad, and the ugly. And how to avoid those last two categories. Join her for this crash course with questions to follow.
When: August 13, 1-3 pm Central Standard Time, 10 am-noon Alaska time
Where: via Zoom
Cost: free for AKRWA members, $10 for nonmembers
Registered participants will receive a link to the recording after the webinar.

2. Virtual Workshop: Working Well With Others: Critique Groups
September 10th, 4-5pm
Hosted by SCBWI-AK, via Zoom
Looking for a critique group or wanting to know how to take your writing career to the next level, join our very own Lynn Lovegreen as she leads this workshop on how to do just that.
Working well with others is a good skill for many professions, including writing. In this workshop, you’ll get ideas on how to work with a critique group to improve your writing and support other writers. We’ll also discuss how to form and keep a group together, and how to break it off when a group isn’t working for you.
Don't miss out on this free webinar and opportunity to take your writing career to the next level while creating a community that you can encourage you on your journey.
