This time of winter is the hardest for me. December has its holidays and distractions, but January and early February are full of short, gray days. We still have snow and ice to contend with, and spring is months away.
Alaskans with extra time and money often take vacations to Hawaii and other sunny places. The rest of us find our own ways to cope. I usually escape for an hour or two for a green break. City or commercial nurseries or greenhouses provide warm, green places to hang out. Here are a few photos--take deep breaths and imagine the warm, green space!
Whatever the weather, I hope you find a green break when you need one!
